January and February Events Hamilton County and Inlet Area

Winter is in full force in Hamilton County. Though we have seen less snow accumulations than previous years, the Snowmobile Trail system has seen some great riding conditions, with the help from our loyal groomers. Did you know that Hamilton County has 750 miles of Snowmobile trails, most of which are free to ride! Click HERE  for current riding conditions.

During the last week of January (Saturday), there will be 2 competition Ice Fishing contests taking place in Long Lake and Indian Lake. Click on the links for more information. February will be the month for Snowmobile Races and winter festivals. In addition, Speculator will host "Feb Fest", a month of special events in the area. If you like X-C Skiing, Fern Park (Inlet) boasts over 22 km of groomed X-Country ski trails. The  Inlet Golf Club and Limekiln Lake Campground offer about 3.5 kilometers of skate and traditional trails at each location.

Trail Conditions for Inlet, NY & the Moose River Plains

Overall snowmobile trail conditions are  Fair to Good

Currently 27 F & Snowing Lightly

less than 1 inch of new snow in the past 24 hours

Most trails have up to 6-10 inches of groomed base

Local Trails – Good: Flat on Seventh Lake Mountain inner trails, the trail to Eagle Bay is Fair, Snirty & Soft

The FX Matts Trail has been groomed and is passable we hope to keep the beaver situation to a minimum in the future.

County Roads – Fair Coverage

Moose River Plains – Good:  groomed with some soft spots.

The Town of Inlet does not ever encourage riding on any body of water.

You can park for free at the Inlet Town Hall any day of the week.  No overnight parking, please.
